These issues or other similar variants can take serious tolls on your quality of life and perhaps also on your hopes and dreams. I understand the frustration as I have experienced some of those difficult challenges (e.g. chronic pain and pathological anger) and also as a parent to an autistic young daughter.

 

You might have tried talk or behavioral interventions. You felt that you understand more about your situation, but your daily functioning and life have not really improved.

 

This is because your issues might originate from a dysregulated physiology that lacks the capacity to process life stressors. When your body and brain feel like a rocking boat, it is hard to implement those cognitive changes. If the dysregulated physiology is not first improved, then talk or behavioral interventions might not be as effective.

 

Human performance depends on your neural and physiological capacity to process a large amount of life’s information at a given time and execute an efficient, effective response. This is a general requirement that applies to all life situations, whether it is a baby learning to crawl, a child learning the complexity of speech, an abuse survivor managing PTSD, an individual learning to restore daily living post-Covid, a Jazz musician improvising on stage, or a financial engineer working on a complex trading algorithm.

 

When your brain and body work more optimally and express healthy anti-fragile properties, chances are you function better regardless of any specific diagnosis. Adults and children can be better equipped to rise beyond their previous limitations and might no longer identify with stigmas or labels.

Program Offering

The Peak Soma program is an integrative 3-month training that can empower you to rise beyond your current challenges.  The ancient Greek word soma can refer not only to the body, but also “the self”. This is the meaning that reflects the latest neuroscience and the program’s philosophy: the body and the mind are united and there is no meaningful delineation between physiology and psychology.

 

The goal of this program goes beyond being more robust (i.e. “capable of performing without failure under a wide range of conditions”, as defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary). It is also to enhance your innate biological anti-fragility – your embodied capacity for progressing, rather than regressing, when challenged by life stressors.

 

The science of neuroplasticity (the capacity of the brain and the broader nervous system to change and develop throughout the entire lifetime, not just up to young adulthood) and bioplasticity (the capacity of the biological human self – the body – to change and develop throughout life) underlie our works. The Peak Soma program builds on your neural and physiological capacity through the following process:

1. Assessment and education

  • Quantification of baseline measures that correlate with physiological self-organization
  • Identification of personalized 5-8 variables that will be tracked for results
  • The bio-psycho-social model of pain and suffering – identifying DIM (Danger in Me) and SIM (Safety in Me)
  • Dietary, lifestyle, and environmental audit – little can be improved if these basic aspects are heavily compromised

2. Alignment of identity and human actions

  • Defining choice-based identity (how you choose to view yourself), which directs identity-based choices (how you choose your day-to-day actions based on the chosen identity)
  • Alignment with the program’s works and the desired personal transformation

3. Central Nervous System (CNS) training

  • Non-invasive neurofeedback training: show the brain its own activities in real-time (doable only with high tech) and it can learn to self-organize even more effectively
    • Leveraging the brain’s innate capacity to self-organize its own metabolism and neural connectivity
    • An efficient brain / CNS is the most crucial foundation of higher functioning and learning

4. Sensory and body-organization training

  • Synergistic use of various non-invasive neuro-techs and low-tech, high-concept physical training / education
    • Working on both cognitive and physical readiness – body organization is the foundation of higher human performance
    • Thought, emotion, perception, and movement are closely inter-related and changes in one affect the others.
    • Movement is often the easiest variable to change and also one of the greatest generators of safety-in-me, which is why our program utilizes movement training as a powerful lever for personal transformation.
  • Breathworks (meaningfully different from most Eastern or yoga-based practices out there)
    • Compromised breathing is a threat to the nervous system, which goes far beyond not having enough air exchange, and can seriously contribute to pain and bodily tension
  • Sensory, movement, and conditioning training for neural and physiological plasticity – customized based on individual capability and context
  • Optimal awareness – a novel way of paying attention (meaningfully different from most mindfulness and meditative practices, which have higher risk than what most people think.

5. Results-oriented framework

  • Engaging coaching system for maximum motivation and accountability, so that you can get full value from the program
    • A results-oriented coaching model, rather than a therapy model
  • Close support for home exercise implementation
  • To maximize results for child clients, the program includes free training for the parent(s)
    • Raising a special-needs child is highly demanding. Despite that, I invite you to also evolve and to interact with your child in a way that not only your child grows, but you as a person also grow by at least as much as your child.

Goals:

  • Substantial improvement in the quality of life, usually reflected quantitatively in the 5-8 areas of concerns that would be identified and tracked at the beginning of the program
  • A shift of identity away from any stigma
  • Higher cognitive and physical readiness to show up fully in life every day
  • Deeper and faster skill acquisition

This program is a way to work with me one-on-one at a deeper level. A big part of the program is also about empowering knowledge and independence so that fairly soon you might not need me anymore (at least not until my next level of growth, when I can offer next-level solutions for you). Because of the intensive nature of the program, I can only take a limited number of clients at a given time.
